Improving the lives of patients with severe Chronic Post-Surgical Pain (CPSP)

“More than 45 million and 61 million surgical procedures are performed every year in the US and in Europe respectively. Most conservative estimates suggest that 10% to 15% of those patients will go on to suffer chronic pain 1 year after surgery 2, 5. Chronic postsurgical pain (CPSP) is a major public health issue: it affects large numbers of patients, has important economic consequences and has a significant effect on quality of life. Chronic pain after surgery is usually, in part at least, neuropathic, and this makes it hard to treat” 1 An estimated 25% of these patients use opioids to alleviate their pain. A significant part are at risk of over abuse and hence addiction. BeWell Innovation’s Well@Home Pain app helps these more than 2,5 million patients and improves their quality of life through its Well@Home platform.”
